Teaching

I'm Sam Schulman (Sam Desmond Schulman), a PhD student in Integrative Biology at LSU New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This page lists the courses and lab sections I teach at LSU New Orleans. Course information for each semester will be posted here.

Teaching experience

• Mentor to undergraduate researchers2025–present Shi Lab, LSU New Orleans
• Mentor to first-generation college students LSU New Orleans

Why I teach

I came back to school as a non-traditional student, after years in construction and food service. That taught me how much a single person who answers questions can change whether someone stays in science. I try to be that person for my students.
